We get it! You’re friends with Brian Eno! This was an interesting read, but not captivating, and not especially personal. David Byrne avoided writing an autobiography or Talking Heads memoir, which I would prefer. I think it would be cool if this was the textbook for History of Music class at a university where David Byrne teaches. The waitlist would be long, and I would be on it. I’m glad that I read it. I gained some perspective. I appreciate the honesty that comes with the financial breakdown of a modern album by a solo artist. I was inspired by Stop Making Sense and wanted to see where the magic came from. Maybe we'll get another book someday.
